Summer Reading @ JCPL - Imagine Your Story is here

In consideration of COVID-19 public health emergency and social distancing, the Jasper County Public Library has restructured its Summer Reading Program.

This year’s program - Imagine Your Story - will be held virtually July 1st-31st, and will feature an online tool to track your reading called Engaged Patrons Online Summer Reading Program.

2020 Election Information

Monday May 4 is the deadline to register to vote in the 2020 Indiana Primary. The primary election, usually held in May, has been rescheduled for June 2 due to Covid-19 social guidelines.

TumbleBooks, a world leader in online children’s book databases, has made its family of online libraries available for free to all libraries until at least August 31.

These resources can be shared and accessed by JCPL patrons from the comfort and safety of their homes.

Resources for talking with kids about coronavirus

Listening to the news, or overhearing grown-ups talk may cause children anxiety or fear about the coronavirus. The challenge for us as a parent, teacher or other trusted grown-up is to make sure we understand what we are trying to explain before talking to them.

When planning a trip, most people will research the usual spots to visit during their stay- where to eat, where to shop, what to see. My priority when visiting uncharted territory? Libraries and bookstores.

Inspire your heart with art at your library

When I was in grade school, my mother would take us to the local library and check out a different art print every month or so.  Her favorite artist was Robert Wood, an American landscape painter. However, my mother wanted her children to learn about many different styles of art and to know important artists.

Winter Reading is Here!

Snow is falling... Books are calling!

Jasper County Public Library will be hosting an Adult Winter Reading Program starting Monday, January 6th through Monday, March 2nd.

For each Fiction, Non-Fiction, Magazine, e-book, Audio Book or audio e-book that you read or listen to, you will receive a ticket to enter into our prize drawings.
