Special Days in July

Summer Reading continues this month with movies and crafts and programs for all ages. The fair happens July 12-18, and for many Jasper County kids and teens, the fair will be their home away from home for that week. Don't forget to stock up on movies and books at your library to relax in the evenings.

July is packed with things to do!

There’s so much going on July within the region, there should be no reason to feel bored!

Of course Independence Day is on the 4th, with fireworks, parades, and barbeques. Check out Meg Geddes’ Fireworks In Indiana website to find a fireworks display near you all year long.

As part of the Spark a Reaction summer reading program at Rensselaer, we pulled out an old Plasma Ball that has been around at the library probably since they first came out in the '80s.

Some facts about boil orders

Our patrons have asked some interesting questions today about the boil order that -- as of 2:30pm Monday, June 23 -- is still in effect in Rensselaer until further notice.

The Jasper County Public Library invites teens to “Spark a Reaction” with this summer’s Teen Summer Reading programs at each branch of JCPL.

If Wishes Came True...New Adult Fiction @ JCPL!

I wish I had a nickel for every time I start a sentence with the words, “I wish…” I wish it would only rain at night and that the sun would shine all day long…I wish the wind would stop blowing; it’s giving me a stretch of bad hair days like no other; I wish the pollen count were not so high (sniff, sniff).

It's never too early to prepare for life after school

For the next few weeks, area graduates will be focusing on those last steps before they walk down the aisle and get their diploma. But for other high-school-aged students, now is also a good time to be thinking about what happens next.
