Grand Kankakee Marsh film showing planned
Once one of the largest wetlands in North America, the Grand Kankakee Marsh covered much of present day Northern Indiana and Illinois, and became known as “The Everglades of the North.”
On Tuesday, June 18 at 6:30 pm, the DeMotte Library invites all interested adults to an hour long video presentation that will offer an overview of this “outdoorsman’s paradise,” its diverse ecology and compelling history.
Exploring the saga of these wetlands along with us will be a knowledgeable spokesperson who will answer audience questions and address comments regarding the documentary film and the endless natural resources found in the Grand Kankakee Marsh, past and present.
Registration is required, and is available online at www.myjcpl.org or by visiting or calling the DeMotte Library at 987-2221.
