The Month of May: So Much to Celebrate, Including These Great, New Adult Fiction Titles!

The month of April honors the poet in all of us, and so we celebrate with National Poetry Month all month long.

The month of May has many holidays and specially designated days to its credit, not the least of which is ‘National Lost Sock Day Memorial Day’ on May 9th.

April is National Autism Awareness Month, but for many families it is Autism Awareness every month.

So this is a good time to promote autism awareness, autism acceptance, and to draw attention to tens of thousands of families facing an autism diagnosis each year.

Did you ever wonder how our county chose its name?

When Indiana was being divided up and organized into counties, they often chose to honor Revolutionary War heroes.  On March 15, 1838 our county was named after Sergeant William Jasper.

Get ready for tax season at your library

Monday, Jan. 29 is the first day the IRS will begin accepting tax returns in 2018. The nation’s tax deadline will be Tuesday, April 17 this year – so taxpayers will have two additional days to file beyond April 15.
