Using watercolor and other mixed media, Joshua D. Smith captures the beauty of the natural world to create art. Always eager to try something new, Joshua enjoys the limitless possibilities of all mediums, including inks, colored pencils, pastels and oil painting.
During the months of January and February, the Wheatfield Library has the privilege of displaying the artwork of Joshua D. Smith on the library’s art wall. Each painting depicts nature in all its beauty, and vividly portrays animals, insects and flowers from Joshua’s native Indiana.
Joshua D. Smith is a resident of northwest Indiana, where he lives on a farm with his wife, Kelsey, and 2 cats, Bob & Oscar. Joshua studied Media Arts & Animation at the Art Institute of Indianapolis, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Joshua believes that anyone can paint, and offers watercolor classes, accepting beginners and accomplished artists alike into his classes.
