What’s the best way to eat a blueberry? Well, that can depend on how you’ve enjoyed them in the past. A rather unpleasant memory I have is picking little blueberries off a bush in the sweltering heat and thinking, “I am never going to be able to pick a whole bucket of these things!”

However, I also have a pleasant memory of going to a blueberry farm store and purchasing blueberry honey, jam, and candies all of which were delicious. So your previous experience with blueberries may color the way you choose to eat this wholesome fruit. Some enjoy blueberries in cereal bars, a cobbler, muffins, or added to other types of food.

However you enjoy them, you can also know that not only are they a tasty treat, they are also a healthy addition to your diet. Did you know that one cup of blueberries yields 24 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C? They are full of antioxidants and phytoflavinoids that help prevent damage to cells throughout the body. Blueberries are an anti-inflammatory that can help heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure, diabetes management, and more.
