If your back could talk, it might tell you to try INSPIRE
Oh, my aching back! Lots and lots of bending, but the garden is finally planted.
I probably took on more than I should have and am now contemplating a much different approach for next year.
Raised beds or container gardening. How enticing does that sound?
Naturally, library resources came to my attention. What information is available for help in this project of mine? I have so many questions. How deep should it be? Do I line the bottom? What is the desired soil composition?
I first checked the always available online catalog. There I found many print resources, for example, Raised-bed Vegetable Gardening Made Simple. I like the sound of that. For the talented, there is a book titled Trellises, Planters & Raised Beds with instructions on how to make your own beds instead of purchasing them.
Obviously, there are many how-to videos on YouTube, but what about the digital resources available at the library? Using the JCPL online databases, also available from home, I found many full-text articles and complete ebooks I could read, download, and print on the subject using INSPIRE, the free research resource from the Indiana State Library.
So. Much. Information.
In the event that your back is talking to you, perhaps this might be just the option you’re looking for as well. Happy planting!
